New to SmartVAN? This foundational training introduces you to the platform’s key tools for voter outreach, data management, and campaign organization. You’ll learn how to build and classify contact lists, create scripts and phone banks, and report on your results – all within SmartVAN.

- Navigation: Understanding My Voters, My Campaign, and the VAN Help Center.
- Contact Records: What to expect when viewing contacts.
- Activist Codes, Survey Questions, and Scripts: What Activist Codes and Survey Questions are, how to create them, and how to build scripts using them.
- Create a List Basics: How to get started using Create a List.
- Virtual Phone Bank: How to set up a Virtual Phone Bank, what OpenVPB is and when to use it.
- Turf Cutter: How to start the Turf Cutter and how to use it
By the end of this training, you’ll understand how to organize, target, and track your outreach in SmartVAN— turning data into action with confidence.
